In reply to Cephun. So it seems to be older gpu related, I upgraded my emulation machine from a 1060 6gb to a 2070 super and suddenly the darkening (at least with Eden) stopped. So it maybe a hardware limitation.

I had the same problem. I switched to the EDEN emulator, and since then I haven't had any problems.

Is anyone having issues when it gets to the game screen. It is so dark i can barely see anything, but the UI is fine.
